My name is Zachary Heim, stage name ZKRY, and I am a Seattle native producer putting together sonic elements of funk, house, pop, and hip-hop into a contemporary tapestry that bears my distinct touch and flair. My musical journey extends beyond my personal endeavors, spanning collaborations on a number of albums for local artists and musicians within the greater Seattle area.
My beginning into music began in my formative years, with my father's presence in an 80s hair metal band igniting my passion. Immersed in rehearsals and captivated by those fundamentals, this early exposure became the spark that ignited my musical journey. By the age of 19, I had embraced a professional role as a pianist, a path that led me to start a performance degree in piano at Montana State University in Billings.
But the allure of the city lights drew me to Seattle, where I embarked on a series of ventures, including stints with bands like Rooted Skies, Kelu, Sonic Funk Orchestra, and the Spencer Glenn Band. My thirst for knowledge led me to the doors of the Art Institute of Seattle, where I honed my skills in audio engineering. This period marked the inception of a prolific era, during which I produced EPs, albums, and memorable studio sessions for diverse musicians. It was within these creative confines that the moniker ZKRY was born, a symbol of my individuality and the catalyst for my solo endeavor.
Having played stages across the expanse of Seattle, the name ZKRY now stands on the precipice of unveiling 2 albums. One in collaboration with an outlaw to create a country project, and the other a dynamite electro-funk album sure to get that booty groovin'.
